Whenever you receive messages from people in your Black List, they will be automatically deleted by the Spam Filter regardless of their contents. By adding an email address to the Black List, you effectively ignore all email from that address.
When an entire domain is added to the Black List, email coming from any address at that domain will be deleted before it reaches your Inbox.
If you are getting spam messages frequently from one particular domain, you can add that domain to your Black List. This is convenient because you don’t have to enter all the possible email addresses which you want to block.
Neither you nor the sender will be notified about email messages coming from blacklisted domains. Therefore, you should only add domains which you know to be untrustworthy. For example, you may be tempted to add domains such as “aol.com” to your Black List. If you do this, you won’t be able to receive any email from AOL accounts. Even if you don’t know someone right now that uses AOL, it isn’t unlikely that someone with a legitimate AOL address might want to contact you personally sometime in the future.
