Option 2: Manually Configure Your Computer Windows 95/98 with IE 4
- Launch the Windows 95/98 “Internet Connection Wizard” by following these steps:
- Click the “Start” menu in the lower left corner of the screen.
- Click “Programs.”
- Click “Internet Explorer.”
- Click “Connection Wizard.”
- The “New Connection Wizard” will launch. Make selections as shown in the following screenshots:

- At this point, you may be asked to install additional components for Internet Access. Simply follow the on-screen instructions. You may be required to insert your Windows 95/98 installation disk. Be sure you have it available.

- Type the Hubris dial-up phone number for your city.
- Other settings on this page may be left at their default values.

- User Name: Enter your user name in all lower-case letters.
- Password: Enter your password. Passwords must be entered with correct capitalization.

- If you will be using Outlook Express as your email program, continue with this wizard by selecting “Yes” and then clicking “Next.”
- If you will be using a different program to check your email, choose “No” on this page and click “Next.” Follow the on-screen instructions to finish the wizard.

- Note: If you have never configured an email account on this computer, you will not see this screen.

- Enter your name as you would like it to appear when other people receive email from you. In most cases, you should enter your first and last name.
- Alternatively, ou may wish to use some other name if the email account will be used by more than one person within a family or organization. For example, “Smith Family,” “ABC Company,” “Community Church,” etc.

- Type in your full email address in all lowercase letters.

- The first option should be left at its default setting, “POP3.”
- In the second white box, type your incoming mail server name.
- In the third white box, type in your outgoing mail server name.

- POP Account Name: Enter your login-id in this box. This is the first part of your email address. Do not type the @-symbol, nor any other part of your email address.
- Password: This is the same password you use to log onto the service.

- Configure your email program (other than Outlook Express.)
If you are not using Outlook Express, you still need to configure your computer to access your email account. Instructions vary depending on the email program you plan to use. Go to the Windows 95/98 Software Configuration page and choose your email program.
