Updating AVG Anti-Virus Manually
Anti-Virus software must be updated with the latest virus definition files in order to catch the newest viruses. If you don't update your anti-virus software regularly, your computer's protection against infection will be seriously compromised.
By following the above instructions, you have configured the program to automatically obtain the latest updates on a monthly basis. However, there are times when you might want to force the program to download the latest virus definition files. Here are the instructions:
- In the taskbar, locate AVG icon. Point the cursor over the icon, then click the right mouse button. Choose "Check for Updates" from the menu that appears.

- The "Update" window appears. Click the button labeled "Internet."
- Follow the on-screen instructions to download the update (if one is available.)
